SOLVED Lenovo Built-in webcam camera not working Windows

The steps below only apply to those of you who are using the MS Teams desktop application. We’ve included steps for MS Teams on browsers too, in the next method. If the Camera app does show the live feed from your camera, then MS Teams is most likely the problem. Refer to the next three methods to solve this problem.

• App gives you an oportunity to store device logs in offline mode directly on your phone.
• If you want to select a different camera, you can do so by choosing other available cameras from the dropdown menu.
• I have tried everything including removing the bezel to see if a wire had come loose on it’s own.

The only other issue you’ll have is when using an older app that’s not compatible with Windows 11. If that’s the case, the app won’t work correctly, and your webcam won’t work in the app. Check with a newer app to ensure it’s the old app and not your webcam. Even though it’s not always convenient, especially on a laptop, to have a removeable webcam, it’s the easiest and best option if your built-in webcam stops working.

Logitech’s C922x Pro Stream Webcam was a previous webcam pick for video streamers, since it records at 720p at 60 fps, like the Razer Kiyo. In this latest round of testing, however, our video team testers preferred the video quality, color accuracy, and brightness of the Kiyo over the C922x. With its light ring, the Kiyo offers more versatility for about the same price. If you already own a DSLR, check with your camera manufacturer to see if they have webcam software for your model. Software is available for both Windows and Mac.

Laptop?

Apps seem to be good about honoring these Windows settings for audio devices. I haven’t found any equivalent system-wide settings for the camera. Select the new webcam from the list of camera devices.
